ABOUT THOMAS MANN:
Thomas Mann began making jewelry in high school and has been doing it ever since. He quickly saw a connection between jewelry, girls and money when he worked as a “buffing boy” and learned how to make silver bangles which he would bring to school in a sock and sell out of by lunch. Throughout its history, his company, Thomas Mann Design, Inc. has employed hundreds of talented people to make and market the work he designs through varied wholesale and retail enterprises. The retail gallery, Gallery I/O, celebrated 25 years of operation in 2013. The e-commerce website has been in operation now for more than 15 years. Thomas Mann exhibits his work at major art & craft show events & fine craft and gift galleries across the country. He also teaches hands-on and artist entrepreneur workshops at home in New Orleans and around the country. In 2007, Mann developed the brand Thomas Mann studioFLUX™ for his teaching enterprise. With this brand, he is now offering jewelry making workshops and do-it-yourself kits and how-to videos from master jewelry artists.
Thomas’ workshop with Upturn Arts young artists on March 8 is sponsored by Threadhead Cultural Foundation!
