Class Name: Mindful Movement (Open Level)
Mindful Movement is taught by our ED, Dana Reed, who is BASI Pilates Certified and has taught dance and movement for over 20 years. This class was inspired by her completion of the New Orleans Youth Alliance’s Wellness Worshop series.
In this class, Dana focuses on meditation, stretching and core strengthing in a relaxing space to refocus your mind and move your body. The class begins with meditation, affirmations, and guided breathing techniques; slowly moves through yoga inspired stretches; and ends with Pilates core strengthening exercises. The class concludes with an inspiring quote to leave you feeling rejuvenated and focused.
PARENTS: Monday classes are taught during our drop in Spring Afterschool Visual Arts program (this should link to that class). This will allow you to take some quiet time to yourself while your young artist is getting creative in the room next door. Both classes are drop in style and donation based.
