Turn It Up, Upturn Arts’ 1st Annual Music Benefit Concert will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Tipitina’s from 6:30-10:30 pm. This 18+ event will feature the musical stylings of DJ Logic and Friends (George Porter Jr., Terrence Higgins, and Donald Harrison Jr.) our very own house band, Upturn Funk, and DJ Masterpiece. Local artist, John Bukaty, will create a live painting experience and showcase his unique ability to capture the essence of live action on canvas. This one-of-a-kind piece will be actioned live in addition to the local art pieces and prizes in the silent auction. Elisa Gomez will be giving 10-15 minute donation-based chair massages. Southern’s food truck will be serving food curbside. 10% of the sales will be donated towards our goal!
Our goal is to raise $25,000 to provide arts enrichment programming opportunities for our young artists. In 2021, Upturn Arts awarded $90,000 in creARTive grants, provided 450 hours of arts instruction and served 4,500 meals to over 400 young artists in our programs. By meeting this goal, we can continue to provide “Arts for All” to New Orleans youth.
