DESCRIPTION:

With Mardi Gras still fresh in everyone’s mind we wanted this two-day camp to be a fun exploration into new local field trip venues for our young artists to explore the energy and community of the city fresh off its cultural crescendo. Each day, we will begin with a fun, informative, and collaborative lesson that explores the nature of what will be experienced for each afternoon field trip. We will have lunch on-site and return back in time for regular 3pm checkout and subsequent aftercare.

In honor of Black History Month, we will exclusively feature teaching artists of color for our morning instructor blocks.

DESCRIPTION:

For young artists looking for a creative respite from the school year, come check out our daily drop-in Spring Break Camp options. Each camp day will consist of four daily classes in our traditional disciplines (Visual Arts, Music, Theater, and Dance), where our participants will rotate with their respective age groups. Each day will end with a showcase that parents are welcome to watch that will feature short presentations of those wishing to share their work with the group for positive feedback and celebration.

We will be traveling to LOOP Nola for an exciting nature and arts workshop exploration on Friday, April 14th.

Join us for our Open House on Friday, April 7th at 3:00 – 6:00 pm at Nola Spaces. Our teaching artists will have sample classes and activities.  Invite your friends so they can have a first-hand experience of what our in-house camps at Upturn Arts are all about.
