Upturn Arts is a communal space that welcomes individuals and families of all identities and from all circumstances. We are dedicated to creating a diverse and inclusive environment that thrives on mutual respect and communication with an understanding that history has not always been kind to individuals of differing ethnicity, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status, etc. Learning from our mistakes is a process we value and want to cultivate in our students, partners, and ourselves.

Our organization fosters confidence in our young artists by creating opportunities for our students to creatively express their stories, while encouraging their unique artistic talents, abilities, and personal histories. We’re here to make sure the next generation of creators, leaders, and changemakers get their start, regardless of income, ability, or neighborhood.
