Summer means it’s time for camp at Upturn Arts!
Join us for 12 weeks of exciting weekly camps from May 19 to August 15, designed for young artists ages 4 to 12. Our talented teaching artists offer classes in theater, music, dance, and visual arts. Young artists enjoy time with their friends in a fun, creative environment, where they are encouraged to find their artistic voice and create original works of art. We focus on individuality, discovery, and exploration in each class.
Each week features a unique theme inspired by the rich arts and culture of New Orleans. On Fridays, local master artists will showcase their talents in a one-of-a-kind workshop experience. Past guests include Tank & the Bangas, Cha Wa, Capoeira Nola, and Jaqueline Ehle Inglefield.
This summer, Upturn Arts is also excited to launch our brand new specialized tween program July 28th to August 1st and August 4th to 8th this summer, in partnership with RicRack! 9 to 12 year olds can register for any week of camp, but the dedicated tween program is only during Sessions 10 and 11.
Parents are also invited to our Zoom orientation on May 8 from 6:30-7:30 PM!
*Camp is closed May 26-30, June 19-20 (Juneteenth), and July 4 (Independence Day).
*All camp registrations require a 25% deposit.
