Jackie Ehle Inglefield

Hi! My name is Jacqueline “Jackie” . I have been part of Upturn since 2014 and am a visual artist.

I believe that creative joy is a gift that nurtures each person’s essence. Last year, I earned my MFA in Art Practice (2025) from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. During my graduate studies, I realized that both my artistic practice and the way I interact with campers are rooted in play. Unstructured play is essential to nurturing imagination, and imagination is the pathway to innovation.

This year, I have had residencies and workshops with NOLA Nacular, Ogden Museum of Southern Art, Louisiana Children’s Museum, The Green Project, and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. These experiences have deepened my commitment to creating engaging, hands-on art experiences that encourage curiosity, experimentation, and creative confidence.

In our “studio”, campers are encouraged to explore their individual interests, experiment freely, and develop their own creative voices. They are given dedicated studio time to grow, discover, and build confidence through the creative process.

Upturn is especially meaningful to me because my three children are all alumni of the Upturn Art Camp program. Seeing the impact it had on them has only deepened my commitment to creating that same inspiring experience for every camper.
