We’re not just closing an arts gap—we’re helping families survive a childcare crisis. In Louisiana, the average cost of summer childcare exceeds $300 per week, putting enriching programs out of reach for many working-class and low-income families, especially those in the service and hospitality industries. At Upturn Arts, we reduce that cost by up to 85%, offering full-day, arts-based care at a fraction of the typical price.

In our mission to provide “Arts for All”, we offer financial aid in the form of creARTive grants!
CreARTive grants are available year round and determined by annual income. To apply, the grant application must be completed with one of the following documents that include your dependents and their names:
• 1040 tax return from 2025
• 1040 tax return from 2024 with last three months of paystubs
• Proof of Medicaid and 1040 tax return from 2025
• Proof of Medicaid and 1040 tax return from 2024 with last three months of paystubs
• SNAP or EBT* and 1040 tax return from 2025
• SNAP or EBT* and 1040 tax return from 2024 with last three months of paystubs
*We currently do not accept P-EBT. 2025 tax return or 2024 tax return with paystubs must be submitted with proof of Medicaid and SNAP or EBT. Tax documents are required from all financially-contributing household members. Your dependents and their names must be on all documents.

Your discount on tuition is based on your family’s annual income, including all financially contributing members of the household. As determined by your federal taxes, find your household size and annual income to determine the amount of tuition you will pay. For example, one week of camp is $375 per week. To register with a household size of 3 and an annual income of $85,000, you will pay 45% of the tuition or $169 per week.
Eligible families will receive a coupon code to apply their creARTive grant discount at checkout. Codes are given on a first-come, first-served basis and must be received before registering. Discounts will not be added retroactively to completed registrations.
Codes are active for one week and offered for up to four weeks of camp at a time. Expired codes are considered declined grants and offered to the next waitlisted family. Registrations are only guaranteed once a 25% deposit is paid toward the total tuition.
Prices do not include registration and supply fees. Before and aftercare are additional costs. Financial aid cannot be combined with other discounts. For all other financial aid and camp registration questions, use the form below to contact our registration manager at registration@upturnarts.org.
